I offer individual therapy that is collaborative, empathic, and mindfulness based. Service areas include midlife issues, depression, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, grief/loss, and recovery from childhood abuse/neglect. High Sensitivity personality trait is also an area of interest. Use of Soulcollage and Flower Essences are also available to assist in the therapy process.
I received my Masters of Social Work (MSW) in 1997 from Portland State University’s School of Social Work and my Bachelors of Science in Sociology in 1989. I have worked in the field of social service, crisis, community mental health, senior services, and hospice for 20 years. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Academy Certified Social Workers.
I completed professional coach training with the International Coaching Academy in 2008, Holistic Health practice and Flower Essence training with Australasian College of Health Sciences in 2007 and with the Flower Essence Society in 2010. I received Soulcollage® Facilitators training in 2008. I am a Certified Professional Coach, Soulcollage® Facilitator, and Flower Essence Consultant.
I am a former Peace Corps volunteer and professional gardener. I served two years in Lesotho Southern Africa and operated a successful gardening services before returning to social work.
I have 30 years experience with various spiritual practices that include western mysticism, nature study, meditation, and the sacred art of listening and observation. I attend regular Buddhist retreats and have a daily (okay most days!) meditation practice. I maintain a strong commitment to self exploration and self understanding and cherish the laughter that comes from a good British comedy and a Charlie Chaplin movie.

Counseling Rates and Package Services
I offer affordable counseling rates and counseling packages created to make counseling easier, more affordable, and convenient to you. I offer individual counseling for adults (ages 18 and up) for trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, and high sensitivity trait. Individual Short Term Counseling
I use a Solution Focused brief counseling approach designed for one or two specific goals involving a current life challenge. Client’s using their Employee Assistance Program service may benefit from this type of approach. Sessions range from 1 – 8 sessions and therapy has a specific end date that the client determines at the beginning of the counseling relationship.
Individual Counseling Program Package
This is a specific counseling package designed for those who want a clear beginning, middle and end to therapy and are seeking a more educational approach. Counseling sessions include solution focused and mindfulness based practices, brief counseling process, handouts, tips, tools and resources. This is a package for people who are proactive, highly motivated, and self directed. Sessions focus on present day challenges and less on issues of the past and family of origin. This package includes a outline of topics that will be covered during the course. Duration is for approx. 3 months with weekly sessions. Client’s who are self paying may benefit from this package but those with insurance may also benefit depending on coverage.
Individual Longer Term Counseling
This is depth counseling using mindfulness based psychodynamic supportive counseling interventions that are empowerment and strengths based. During longer term counseling, sessions are focused on current issues and family of origin issues as they relate to the here and now. Together we explore core patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that you determine are being unhelpful in your life. This type of work requires a number of sessions and clients can expect to be in counseling for at least 6 months or more of weekly or every other week sessions depending on the severity of issues, history, symptoms, current patterns of coping, and counseling goals. Clients who are self paying or using insurance (depending on your coverage) may benefit from this type of counseling.
Group Counseling and Workshops
I am in the process of developing SoulCollage® workshops and a Women’s Support group that will focus on midlife issues, women’s trauma and empowerment. Please check back for more information on days and times.
